This thing is already looking massive and it’s growing tall quickly. For some reason this is growing at a much quicker rate than 10 Hudson Yards did.

was about to say this. Concrete is slower in general.
I might get a hands on tour of the HY area and see the work in the next couple of weeks. Going to do an audit of the rail work going on nearby.
A friend of mine has access to the top of 10 hudson. Has some sick shots from it. Of course, for company business. 
But this tower next to Steinway are the most exciting things going on right now. I guess CPT, but 30 Hudson is just a monolithic construct.

What blows my mind about this photo is how tall 10 HY appears from this angle. To think 30 HY will be nearly 50% taller! Going to just dominate the Hudson!

There will be 5 or so towers in the area that are much taller than 10 hudson, and another 3-4 around the same height.

That’s actually a pretty cool observation. It even gives the illusion that its at eye level with the ESB antenna. Depending on the angle from the point of view, it will appear like its the tallest in Midtown. Not to mention wide. Which I think is the best feature about it. Not that its tall, but its a super block style skyscraper. The size will further be reinforced by the 5+ towers u/c in the area that are taller than 10 Hudson like mockinbird mentioned.

Exactly, Chris. By the same logic, CPT may actually appear to be even taller than 30 HY since it will be only a little further East but 250+ feet taller still.
Plus, don’t forget the elevation difference. CPT is aprox 65’ higher in elevation than 30 Hudson, so IMO it will be quite dominating.
