Led Screens progress

I just love how this one basically book ends/follows The Edition’s LED screen, Supports for the side screen are clearly visible, but I wonder if there will still be a small wrap around at the top front of the building.

Small World Vacations shared a post on Instagram: "Small World Vacations has a billboard in Times Square! Celebrate the New Year with us in the Big Apple 🍎 This is your sign to set sail on a Disney Cruise in 2023! 🚢

Part of the screen below the stage doors is protruding.

Yep, it’s intentional as part of the stage front when the doors are open as a sort of ticker banner. I believe I read somewhere that it was also so that people can feel like theyre standing above TS, even though it’s only like 4 feet out. I think when it’s not being used as a stage, that the public are also allowed to walk out on it, when the doors are opened of course.

What are the chances this thing is ready for tonight? You have to think they were aiming to sell ad space to someone for the ball drop.

I’d say it’s possible, since it now appears to be mostly operational per live feeds of TS. It’s just hard to tell if it’s already advertising stuff or just playing a loop of random videos atm.

Are we looking at the the first example of a B2C billboard in Time Square? Unless I’m reading this wrong you can download the TSX app and pay for your 15 minutes of fame to have your face in lights over broadway (ok, 7th avenue but close enough). 24x4@$40 a pop gives them a whopping $3840 a day of revenue from the signage. I’m no Ted Turner but $160/hr, or $26,880 for a week long ad buy sounds about right.

Yep, that’s indeed what it seems like, but when you look on the app stores, the description for the app only says 15 seconds of fame, lol. So I dont know how that work, it says you choose the 15 min airtime window, but I dont know how it plays within those 15 mins, if it’s just looping or it just plays one time at the start of the 15 mins. But it’s still a very interesting concept for TS since it’s normally costed like thousands of dollars to display ads in TS.

Wow, well at that rate they’ll be printing money. Too bad Uncle Sam doesn’t have a billboard in Times Square because we could roll back the debt clock on 44th street to zero in a jiffy.

I don’t know if people would even care, lol.

I didn’t know this, but apparently you can rent some of the other TS screens for 15s ads as well for more or less the same price, so it actually isnt the first of its type in TS.

Remember not too long ago where there was a camera trained on 46th St. and it would beam your picture to one of the giant screens on the east side of the street. I imagine they must have had a slight time delay to prevent obscenities from getting broadcast but now I wonder if it was an app too.

Any updates on when this will be ready? Also, any news on if they will be putting in a bid for the casino license?
