Probably due to rent increases and not lack of sales. Times Square is booming right now.
Can someone tell we what the zoning around Times Square is like? I just think it’s weird for it to be so (relatively speaking) small.
Adding on to this: Does anyone have any bets on what the next big projects will be for Times Square now that One Times Square and TSX Broadway are wrapping up?
One Times Square is nowhere near wrapping up.
Pic by me. Taken yesterday.
Want to note One Times Square (the building with the ball, where the ball is dropped) and the renovation thats occurring. Essentially a face lift and new LED’s, out door platform and façade.
Surprisingly limited media coverage of this.
Does anyone know if the new One Times Sq building is now taller than the original? or is it that same height just redone?
It’s being stripped to the bare frame and being renovated and re-clad for use as office and entertainment space and its height of 395 feet is not being changed (although Wikipedia lists it as 363 ft tall). The YIMBY article on it also mentions its just being reskinned and re-adapted as mixed-use.
