It’s not great but it could have been worse. I’m happy with it.

As expected, the worst supertall design in the city. :frowning:

Well, it’s better than the original straight up design that was very similar to 432 Park Avenue.
Plus, I think it looks better than with a spire too.
Still, I am satisfied with this design as well. Let’s see how it goes when it rises up.

It’s a render Yimby! I think it will be great when built!

That rendering comes from the DeSimone Engineering website.

Viñollyyyyy??? Why you do this??? Ughhh he is really starting to tire me as an architect. Hard to keep faith if I am completely honest haha. I respect the guy and see he has a vision but it seems like it is sub par design after sub par design. I hope this is only a render issue.

This is probably the worst-located of any of the new ‘supertall’-ish towers coming to the Financial District, with the throngs of WTC tourists dominating the street.

One Wall is on higher ground and will have fancy retail in the bottom (while also facing the higher-end retail east of Bway), 80 South Street is towards the Seaport but at least away from the heart of the crowds, and 45 Broad is in a similar situation to 1 Wall.

The only development with a location worse than 125 Greenwich is 50 West, and that’s only marginally so. So really we shouldn’t expect something amazing here anyways.

Its really a wasted opportunity. This design is not at the caliber that’s needed to mix well with the surrounding towers. Shvo is disappointing, but its expected from a developer who doesn’t have a vision for a city. Simply churn out a tower without any consideration to how it will shape and redefine the landscape. Stern, Barnett, now… those are visionaries. Even Silverstein, but Shvo is at the bottom of the barrel.

In the end, its tall, and maybe would of been better suited for LIC, but near the WTC, its crap and not worthy of its prime location.

I agree. This section of Greenwich St is mediocre. This building is as good as it would get for this area.

Although mediocre now, this tower along with the elevated park and a couple of the Trinity projects slated to rise would certainly change things for the better.

Hopefully, in the next cycle you have potentially 111 Washington and 5 WTC site that could tie things up nicely for this southern section of the WTC complex.

I think this is a nice tower. I would not be happy to see this rising at 16 or 31 W 57th, but I’m pleased to see it rising here.
