Walk around there, you’ll see.

Amenities have been unfinished and the base is still under construction

Would also add that the floor plans are a little awkward

Part of the scaffolding came down today - we can finally start to see the full effect - looks great! reminds me a bit of the Lincoln Center

I think this whole building is a masterpiece.

When I’m out and about photographing this, I am often solicited for my opinion, and I usually insist that people tell me what they think about it first. Strong opinions coming out against 9 DeKalb generally arise from people who desire Brooklyn to remain a low rise borough (anecdotally, these would be folks who own entire brownstones). When I asked someone from a barbershop on Bond St in downtown Brooklyn what he thought of it, he said ‘I like it…it’s like a sculpture’. I concurred.

Change is inevitable and there is no guarantee that it will be an improvement. Even though I was hoping for a more dramatic spire as in the renders, overall I think we got very lucky here.

SHoP and JDS created something that illicits a strong response. That is the best sign you can hope for that the work is of lasting value.

I honestly think the surrounding area is why (along with the tower still being unfinished) sales are slacking. The retail around here is low brow to say the least, and there are alot of kids nearby who case ruckus around barclays

sure it is now - but there are more than 10 towers being built around (most of them in the last stages) - this area will be very different in no time

This isn’t around Barclays

Less than a mile and a 10 minute walk?

Flatbush Ave is the great divider.
