I have a question. Once 2 Manhattan West, the Spiral, 50 hudson, and 3 hudson are finished, will this be a bigger skyline than all of Philly?

For sure, and I think that it will even be bigger (sq footage & height, obviously) than downtown L.A.

Los Angeles CBD (Bunker Hill + Financial District) was 27.6 million sf in 4Q 2019.
Hudson Yards was rezoned for 24 million sq of new office space. Hudson Yards Development Corporation.

Philadelphia CBD is 54.1 million sq! :upside_down_face: Avison Young.

Lol okay. You could have just said Hudson Yards is more impressive than Downtown LA instead of cherry-picking stats (ie not including South Park, the Historic Core, Civic Center or the eastern section of Westlake).

the size of Center City Philly is kind of hard to grasp by just looking the skyline. It’s massive. Many buildings are from before the gentlemens’ agreement was axed which set the precedent for taller buildings. Those modern, tall buildings subsequently dominate the skyline, overshadowing the shorter stock,

This isn’t prewar Chicago or San Francisco.

I’m not cherry-picking stats, that’s what Cushman & Wakefield consider LA’s CBD. Sure you can add all of the surrounding submarkets. These numbers were just to give a sense of scale and yes, Hudson Yards will be and is more impressive than DTLA.

It seems massive, but it feels so small when you walk around it for a day. I haven’t even walked around the city 10 times and I’m already getting used to it, that grid system William Penn played out in 1682 really helps
