That’s just 1 Penn plaza renovations. None of Vornado’s ESC buildings are under construction.

I’m pretty sure that stache is saying (quite literally) don’t beat a dead horse. There’s not really any point in just posting photo’s of the area because it doesn’t really do anything for the development as opposed to posting news articles about it.

I was surprised to read that this garage dates back to 1957 - it’s older than Madison Square Garden by more than a decade. Sometimes called “New Garden Garage” (although it must have had a different name before the 1960s), it is rather mesmerizing in terms of its decrepitude.

At least on West 30th Street (the garage faces both 30th and 31st streets), it was preceded by some windowless facade of unknown purpose:

This grimy garage, a monument to the golden age of auto travel, has stood at this site for 66 years! That’s mind-boggling. It’s practically a landmark. And it might remain on this site for decades longer.

The original Penn Station across the street, a monument to the golden age of rail travel, only lasted for about 56 years.

DeCamp Bus Lines, which serves riders in Passaic and Essex Counties in northern New Jersey, announced on Monday that it would end its commuter service to and from New York City on April 7.

The company, which has operated in the region for over 150 years, originally using [canvas-topped stagecoaches, has struggled to retain commuters since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, with ridership now averaging 20 percent of prepandemic levels, according to a news release from DeCamp on Monday.

I’m posting this to illustrate the point that fewer people are coming into Manhattan on a daily basis. People that come into Manhattan on a daily basis generally are doing it for work. If less people are coming here it means there is less demand for office space, or any kind of pressure for new commercial towers. So for Hochul to still be promoting this development = beating the dead horse. It looks to me that we are sliding into another recession or possibly something worse.

News flash banks are failing. This does not portend well for construction.

That’s pretty alarmist to be quite frank, smaller banks “fail” quite frequently there is just usually lesser media attention. In terms of Signature, it didn’t actually fail; the state regulatory agency took them over due to having a larger than comfortable exposure to crypto. So while I think its important to be cognizant of current market conditions, lets not act like the sky is falling.
