There is definitely something going on with that blue plastic film on the windows: why all the odd patches that look partially, and painfully, scraped off the glass. Particularly on the section with the corrugated or fluted glass; seem the adhesive on the film is bonding to the glass. I do window tinting; so pardon the odd interest in the subject.

Any insight and expertise is appreciated. I’ve been frustrated before by plastic wrap that was stuck on a surface, but a much much smaller area. I would be anxious if my task was to peel all the blue wrap off of this building.

The window tinting film I do has a strong adhesive that is difficult and messy to remove: as it should be as it is supposed to be permanent. However, this plastic film on the CPT windows is only a protective film that is supposed to peel off easily in one full sheet. When you buy a new cell phone, or TV or electronic device; there is usually this type of thin plastic protective film that peels off easily. The blue film on these window seem to be sticking more than they should: so you see those patches were the rip-off attempts failed - then there are areas that look like an attempt to scrape off the film was attempted. Those particular photos above clearly indicate that the plastic film is not coming off clean: not sure why. I look at these buildings from the POV of an Architecture buff; but also interested in the construction technology as that is my occupation. I hope someone else find this observation interesting as well.

This happened with the Comcast Technology Center. There’s still blue film on it! But I think it’s staying on because of how long it stays in the sun, could definitely melt just sitting on hot metal reflecting the sun

Yes, I was thinking that too. The extended length of time before removed, combined with baking in the sun; that causes the plastic to ‘fuse’ with the glass surface making it hard to remove.

No matter the problems with the peel off I would think the developer is highly incentivized to get off all the blue film - who would want to pay all that $$ to look out the window and see plastic blue film - Anybody know when residential occupancy begins?

Yes, that blue film is a minor issue in the grander scheme of things. I too would like to know the back story on occupancy dates: can they reasonably make a sale based on a firm occupancy date - seems nobody has a clue as to how long these projects take to complete. There must be some ‘occupancy date’ that the developer must commit to in order to close the sale. On this type of information; there is a curious silence. If a good forensic accountant got together with an investigative journalist there would be a fascinating story to be told about some of these super tall/slender condo towers.
