If you look behind the hoists, I’m pretty sure that’s parapet steel in place

Edit: actually I’m positive it’s parapet steel because it wasn’t there last week:

With all luck this means cladding will be finished in the coming month or so!!

Visible on the right side of the top in this photo as well

Yup, that’s it! I can see the 3 rows of steel and the parts that hold the windows in place. Great catch!

Thomas, you seem to know a lot about this buildings design- do you know whether the parapet will be spandrel glass and fully opaque or whether it will be transparent or translucent?

Just a reminder, I’m only a teenager who scatters the internet for sources. But the mechanical floors and parapet should be opaque, that’s very common in skyscrapers. Just look at 1 Manhattan West for example, the parapet steel is completely covered with opaque glass. And I believe the east face of the crown will be all metal cladding

Gotcha. I was just wondering because some newer towers like Hearst or 3WTC have some transparency

I have been noticing that the blue plastic peel-off film on the glass/metal is not ‘peeling-off’ - or so it seems seeing the odd partial patches. The super zoom in feature on the last photo gives a good close up look at some of the sections that do not seem to be coming off easily: reminds me of when one tries to peel of the price tag or sticker on a newly purchased product - some parts stay stuck. I hope some construction industry insider will know the facts of the matter and chime in on that patchy blue film: inquiring minds need to know.
