Well, I do have an Eames (knockoff) chair upholstered in grey like in the photo. I’m part way there. I don’t hate it, but I have trouble seeing this having broad appeal or staying power.
Not to get too far off topic but I think its due to the way its styled. It would look less sterile if the walls were a different color, like a hunter green or navy and some warmer tone wood furniture.
Painted my living room 20 years ago and 2sq ft of plaster just plumb fell off the wall. I ended up taking down the whole damn thing, removing lathe and exposing the brick. Made the place feel bigger and who doesn’t like brick?
New construction often seems flimsy so I kind of dig the direct connection with the structural elements myself too.
Three years ago this month.

Site is very busy on this warm Saturday. Concrete truck on site, deliveries being made, rebar being lifted. Tough to get a good photo though with all the workers and the traffic on 3rd Ave.
Tower crane is being erected today.
