NEW YORK | 611 W 56th St | 442 FT | 35 FLOORS

What a beauty. A highly refined design that will be deeply enjoyed by those who appreciate this type of minimalist modernism. The general public will most likely not give it much notice; or worse, dismiss this as just another “boring box”.

Alvaro Siza is; an ‘Architects Architect’ - in other words, his work is sublime. :smirk:

Infoshare–You are right IMO. This building is refined, subtle, and different from most recent “boxes.” It is hard to attain those characteristics on a lot as skinny as this one.

A lender is moving to seize Rudy Gabsi’s stake in a Manhattan condo tower after the troubled developer allegedly failed to cough up millions of dollars in court.

Midtown-based Waterfall Asset Management has sued the former head of the firm Leny Group to take control of 611 W. 56th St., a 35-story, 80-unit luxury high-rise near the edge of Hell’s Kitchen, according to a filing that appeared Friday in Manhattan’s state Supreme Court.

The limestone-walled building, which opened in 2022 in a post-industrial area once known as "Automobile Row,” is expected to haul in $100 million in unit sales, according to its offering plan, and many of its apartments remain unsold. Indeed on Friday nine developer-built “sponsor” units were for sale for prices that ranged from $1.1 million to $6.7 million, according to StreetEasy data.
