Hopefully, the G Man will give us some news soon.
I hope that they build the hotel/condo. The taller, more slender tower looks much better in my opinion. It would be nice if KPF tweaks the design to add a crown.
Great article by YIMBY!
The taller version would be a 21st century GE Building. Now we might have in the next decade the Grand Hyatt as a 21st century a Chrysler… where is the 21st century Empire State Building?
I’ve been hoping for a while that Prince Alwaleed bin Talal al-Saud builds his mile high tower here in The City.
It’s a matter of time before the Qataris do something at their huge full-block site in Times Square.
Built 790 seventh Avenue tower
The Qataris are obviously flush with cash and will want to make a statement, much like Al Smith back in 1931.
790 7th Avenue is a relatively small block because of its Times Square location.
A tower of 900,000 square feet could theoretically be VERY tall. Perhaps a world’s tallest.
432 Park Avenue is 412,000 square feet.
Great photo, JC.
This building — hidden on 46th — is gorgeous. It would be the historic star in 99% of US cities.
Those 2 (or 3) party walls haven’t seen daylight in a century.
I hope the buyer of this beautiful building across the street from Extell’s site restores it. At a minimum, I’m pleased that the garish Oakley sign will come down.

P.S.: Has anyone seen how beautifully the TGI Fridays building at 604 Fifth is being restored? It looks great.
YIMBY just posted this about the beautiful little gem where TGI used to be.
Right. It is a gem. Thanks for the article link.
Do we know the final height of this?
