Pics by me. Taken today/tonight.
I took my GF too Eagle Rock today as well.
Few glass panels cracked and they had to replace them.
love the modernism on display from the base.
That top point will remain without a few of the glass windows, that’s a viewing platform
I think that’s a terrible choice. It looks awful
Fully agreed. It’s bothered me ever since I realized it would remain as a permanent feature of the building. Sacrificing the integrity of architectural form for a touristy gimmick. sigh But I guess this is the future (cf. Tower Fifth’s ridiculous slide). The Disney-fication of NYC continues . . .
How is that any better than the other gigantic observation deck 10 floors down
the hole is patched

I hope they do the same lighting for 30 HY
I couldn’t resist sharing a few. I had so much fun today. I can’t wait to go back to all the places I took photos with my phone and retake them.

You pay more money.
I think 30 HY looks ungainly and awkward from some angles, but seen directly from the north like this it looks sharp! I almost regret that this view will largely be obscured by two 1,000 footers.
I also regret the way the sky deck level interrupts the banding at the building’s top. I wish there had been some workaround to maintain visual continuity, even something as simple as stripe of dark colored glass.
When will that AT&T building be redeveloped. It’s in a prime spot.
