Huh. It would be interesting and a bit surprising if they in fact re-use the existing structure for the new podium, as the article says. But that seems to be just speculation…

That flat roof is begging for a turret. I guess there’s no demand for such small spaces these days.
Huh. Not terrible, but perhaps a little plain or maybe even dated. It reminds of 230 Ashland in Brooklyn. At least this looks like it will use curved glass on the corner, which I’m always a fan of.
Decent filler. Almost anything would be better than what’s currently there. I’m glad it’s not all glass, that would have looked bad on this block.

I walked by here yesterday. I heard loud noise from inside as if work was being done, although I couldn’t actually see any activity anywhere. It looks like the arch at the top of the corner is now gone (progress!) But man this seems like a slow demolition.
Swear to god it’s like they’re tearing it down with nail clippers.
This looks like a very promising design. Hope the execution of it is up to the task.
