I figured I’d post some pictures here so I can mainline all the information like I usually do when I make things.
Summary: fresh new project. Year is 1963, started October 2019, took an approximately 50 day break not long after.
The project has 71 buildings at the time of posting this, and I’m currently refocusing on Radio Row. It’ll take a long time to catch up to the 1002 buildings of the last map, but the quality is much more refined here; everything is an improvement.
The most recent building is the Glackner Building at Radio Row, and the next one will likely be 63 Vesey Street.
Some of the photos I’ll post are outdated but since its the first post for the project I figured it’s fine as an introduction, and the rest will likely just be updates.
I figured that I would rebrand the title to a more general option as I don’t trust my bipolar decision making skills to stick to a year, especially since the last map was just chronological hopscotch.

Added the Underwood Building, New York Telephone Building, and Federal Office Building. 50 Church Street is also mostly complete, total count is 75 buildings now.

102 Buildings update:
Most notable addition was the Woolworth Building, which I am extremely proud of
Another addition was 250 Broadway; it just barely makes it into the project as it wrapped up in March 1963
The smaller setback style boxes (Boomer Tumors as I call them) at 100 Church and 30 West Broadway were also added…
…as was the more formal 99 Church Street.
The most recent thing in progress is St. Pauls Chapel, which is coming soon.
Finally I added lights to most of these, so I made some shots around the map at night. Enjoy.

I added Liberty Tower today, though I don’t have time to be descriptive so I’ll get straight to the screenshots. Total count is now 107.

I might make a PMC post on this project at 250 buildings or maybe 300.

I started burning through the Newspaper Row Buildings. Most of them are already added.
I’m also working on another thing. To put it simply, this view of the Tract Society Building no longer exists.

Reunited at last.
And what’s this without a good comparison with this photo I love

I added the Black Building a few weeks ago but forgot to mention it. Think of it as the World Building’s substitute since it has passed on at this point.
Also started to lay out the neighborhood to prevent mistakes and get some new building opportunities.
Perhaps…
Or maybe…
Or even…

I think the perhaps, the maybe and the even, all of them, would be wonderful additions to your project
It’s really nice you’re also doing these buildings that most people didn’t know existed. In addition to the Singer and City Investing Buildings, Park Row area is what impresses me the most in your project. Great job!

Thanks lol, I’m happy I changed the year from 1963 to 1961. I thought originally that having a few empty lots buildings like the Metropolitan Realty Building under demolition there would be interesting, but I’m not that terrible of a person to let that happen.

I was surprisingly short on good pictures of this building. Thank you.

I added the Hide & Leather Building(1921) and the Healy Building(1891). Both very important aspects of this area.
Also added the smaller Elgee Building(1920) between them.

Bishop Building (1901, annexed 1952) and Royal Bank of Canada(1902).
Extremely underrated, very beautiful, demolished in 1991 for an empty lot, and barely visible in my map since I don’t have the south half of Chase Plaza
