Reminds me of the Jackson park LIC towers

Since Trump will be out of office in January, his super putzy son-in-law will have plenty of time to pursue this.

Construction supposed to start June 2021

Nice
2025 seems like a while, considering how fast Journal Square has been going up

Journal square broke ground in 2014 for the first tower and only just got the second one up. Id say 2025 might be optimistic

Yeah, it’s a pretty aggressive schedule. I think unlike JSquared, which had a pause between completion of Phase 1 and the start of Phase 2, this project is expecting to start Phase 2 before Phase 1 is done.

Waiting to start…

As of today, no building permit applications filed for this site, even though they claimed this would start in June.

Not looking likely.

Here we go again…
Mayor states construction is starting this summer. I don’t see any permit applications so let’s see how true this is :crossed_fingers:t2:

Construction permits for the building have been filed and are under review by JC department of buildings, under the address “10 JOURNAL SQ.”

Separately, Fulop said it will break ground within two months at a meeting last Saturday at St Johns hosted by the condominium associations representing 10 Huron, 225 St. Paul’s Ave and 201 St. Paul’s Ave.

Going to be honest I considered this a dead project. Still won’t believe until I see a crane. If it really is happening it’ll be a huge change for the JSQ skyline, since Journal Squared will no longer be a monolith on the skyline.

I completely agree with you but there is a permit at the DOB for footings and foundation. There’s still a chance it can stall out again even with permits applied (177 Academy) but let’s hope it keeps pushing through :crossed_fingers:t2:

The project is already financed. Unless a meteor hits tomorrow, or something of that nature, it’s a done deal.

Big projects often take a while to get moving, and this project is enormous. It’s nice to finally see construction activity imminent.

They cleaned the whole lot of garbage. 2 weeks ago the empty lot it was a huge trash can. Today it was clean

That’s big, when I was there about a week or so ago it was still full of trash

Did they start any construction? Anyone know who the General Contractor is?

There is an excavator on site clearing out the (decades) of weeds. The parking lot next door has been closed to the public since the 23rd.
Photo taken yesterday.
