New Journal Square tower

Last September I obtained some other renderings of this one but was holding off on posting them.

The city at the time was requiring them to retain the facade of a building at the corner of Newark and Central Ave, which looked pretty silly. Looks like that’s gone by the wayside now with this latest rendering.

BTW, this is just the beginning. Namdar has another three towers in the 47-51-story range planned for Journal Square. Plans will probably come out in the next 2 or 3 months.

Very nice. Hopefully all the development causes the surrounding areas to improve aesthetically.

Looks like they want to build a Jersey City “Central Park Tower” sort of thing. Given the name and that it will be directly across from the new Courthouse Park

As of documents I saw 2 weeks ago (March 14), the plan was still for 1,151 apartments and office uses, but a planning board filing from today shows a minor of a reconfiguration. Now 1,141 apartments, and 15 hotel rooms instead of office.

Forty-seven (47) story mixed use tower consisting of 1141 dwelling units, hotel containing 15 rooms, 3,921 sq. ft. of ground floor retail and other site improvements.

Interesting reconfiguration. Struggling to think of what sort of profitable hotel only has 15 rooms haha
