SHELTON, CT — A developer, Joseph Salemme of J&L Enterprise LLC, is seeking approval to construct a 4-story, 57-unit apartment building at 74 Todd Road, according to Hearst CT.
A prior housing proposal was denied by the town. The new plans are pending before the Planning and Zoning Commission.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport is moving toward demolishing four undeveloped buildings on Cherry Street, as developer Gary Flocco tries to keep the project afloat, the Connecticut Post reported.
The properties are home to the partially completed Cherry Street Lofts development, but the next phase of the project has long been delayed while Flocco deals with litigation on the effort.
So far, 158 apartments and a charter school have been built at the site.
Flocco is reportedly closing on loans in September to finance the next phase of the project, but the city plans to move forward with the demolition if it does not receive confirmation of the closing.
It’s been bandied about for quite some time; but they don’t take LI’s roadway system into consideration.
LIE exit 64 north (NY 112)
NY 25a to same.
Needless to say, both would inevitably receive more traffic than their respective situations can allow.
But the big failure of the Nutmeg State brain trust is the absolute fury the residents of Port Jefferson would raise after hearing word of a busy thoroughfare slicing the village, especially since both routes aforementioned meet practically in the middle of said village.
If the island’s geology allowed it, maybe a bridge-tunnel from it’s beginnings to I-95 at or around Bridgeport’s east side would work with the condition that the span would be tunnel at both ends and a bridge (IMHO cable-stayed) in between. But I’m not a city planner.
