What are the concrete angles for? Is that support for the tower becoming wider above that point?
This is going to be nice.
I believe so, this will be a somewhat similar situation to One Manhattan West in that regard, there will be angled columns branching outward from the triangles that will eventually turn into vertical columns since there was no place to put the columns at ground level for those 2 sides.
I believe these columns will come out of the larger upper triangle and the smaller one is part of the belt truss.
Are the two stacked vertically? I thought the one that looks lower and smaller was just on the other corner farther away.
Oh you are right, I was wondering why there were two, they lined up so perfectly I though there was a smaller and bigger one. Lol disregard my part about the smaller triangle, the larger triangle aspect (or singular) is still correct.
Too bad there’s not a laugh emoji to click on.
Speaking of South Station
im gathering that these lower levels of the tower proper are in fact hung from those columns that slope up from the core. the downward facing brackets that go around the column appear to be a temporary system, allowing them to construction from bottom to top before the permanent hanging load paths are in place.
Speaking of south station, they really need to build the north - south tunnel to connect north and south station. I mean seriously it’s 2 miles, and would be invaluable. Yeah it’s gonna be ridiculously expensive, so was the big dig. It still needs to be done.
