Don’t lose the grit, just enhance it and make it that much better than it was before.

My decision has changed. The thing I’m most looking forward to in 2022 is the cap on residential FAR being removed, would be transformative for the city if this was done.
Next is ESA finally being completed. And then there are several big project going through in 2022.

Seriously, why is there a cap at all? And why at 12 stories? Like, that’s been broken so many times it’s crazy!

Not happening. Or if that does happen, it will be outdated the moment they release. Those buildings aren’t going up for a while.

I also doubt either of these are happening.

How are you sure abou the Empire Station complex?

Vornado will move forward with the whole complex in the next 10 years, for sure.

Garment District will be redeveloped, and Midtown West will get completed.

Like I said, they’re not going up for a while. Besides maybe Penn 15.

I could also name a few projects in Austin but…

For me personally, it would be more important if Corona finally came to an end. I would like to be able to fly to New York again after 2017 not only to see the city but also to meet you all. I wanted to travel to New York and Philadelphia last year.

And 2022?

 • Completion of 9 Dekalb, CPT, The Spiral, 2 Manhattan West, 50 Hudson Yards, and Steinway Tower

 • Construction announcement for 350 Park, 175 Park, and Macy’s Headquarters

 • Further progress on 270 Park, Ronald O Peralman Art Center, Alloy Block, Second Ave Subway line, Disney’s NYC headquarters, and Bronx Hip Hop Museum

 • Official renderings for 2 WTC

 • New electric car chargers

 • New development in the Bronx, along the East River, and in Yonkers

I wonder when the Bronx will get its first 500 ft building

Zero new renderings for Empire station for the next year? I find that hard to believe.

Why would there be? None of the towers are coming for a while yet, what point is there?
Then again, it’s possible.

I know Hotel Penn is being replaced by Penn 15 and Grand Hyatt is being replaced by 175.

^Yep, and it can’t happen soon enough.

I have no idea why Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood isn’t taller or have any development. Does anyone know why? .

Pretty sure that area is a huge historic neighborhood with massive protections. People live there which makes it harder. Plus for a long while a lot of other spots were easier to develop, I mean Hudson Yards was literally nothing before.

^ This. The city had to make a deal with the neighborhood in order to permit Worldwide Plaza.
