Ugliest facade on SF east cut

Honestly, I couldn’t make sense of the panels - I wasn’t sure what they were meant to express. The vertical wood grill in the center bay only adds to the chaos, and it feels as if the side facing downtown was treated as the back of the building. Compared to the neighboring project on the right, this façade looks like a recycled afterthought. Both should have been reviewed as a pair, don’t you think?

i respect whoever designed it but..yh

LOL you made an account just to create a thread on how bad this building is

Next up, I’ll be sharing some thoughts on city life - like how a few single-story buildings downtown grill every morning, filling the streets with smoke until your clothes smell like BBQ just from passing by. Or how the rapid spread of one kind of sports field (aka Padel parks) feels like it’s pushing out other activities. To me, that shift moves San Francisco’s sports culture further away from real diversity and inclusion and (im a tennis player)

Oh well. Stay tuned.

This building wouldn’t be so bad if all the panels were that dark color.

Oh my god this is downtown facing btw

IMO the site should have been upzoned to line up with the rest of the neighborhood. Wasted opportunity considering the size of the site…

That railing was intentional :frowning:

The ugly stepsisters.
