Officials say this fire is going to grow before it is fully contained. Lucky its not further south or east in the more densely populated suburbs.

That’s quite the video. You could definitely smell the smoke and see the haze on Saturday. When I walked out of my building in the morning I thought there was a building on fire in the neighborhood, but there were no sirens…

Is there any info as to why they ditched the nice facade?
off the top of my head, it was probably just a property owner who didn’t want to pay for custom repair/maintenance work on it, but I’d just be guessing.

Yeah, I’m not sure how we all missed this. I took these photos last night. It looks awful next to all its stone neighbors. The base is still stone? I’m not sure if that will be removed or fixed.

This is absolutely tragic. The facade didn’t even look like it was in rough shape and a nice pressure wash would have done wonders.

Judging by this render, they are keeping the stone at the base… very ugly combo but at least the pedestrians on the abutting sidewalk will get a decent experience
