Taken last Tuesday. Went on an Open House New York boat ride that circled the entire island. It was great!

Did they redo part of that park? They were talking about it a while back -
It really needs it. I lived there until recently, and … hoo boy, that park and all the sidewalks around it are in rough shape.

The park has a pretty cool history like most things in NY. Designed by the same people who did Central Park and Prospect Park. Here is a passage from the wiki article for the park concerning renovation:

In February 2017, Parks Without Borders (PWB), the design unit of NYC Parks proposed “renovating” the park.[6] Public opposition gave rise to the advocacy group, Friends of Fort Greene Park.[7][8] The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) took no vote, with one commissioner observing that the plan was “against every historic moment in the design of the park”.[9][10][11] The LPC later approved the plan after NYC Parks eliminated a proposed work by the late landscape architect Arthur Edwin Bye.[12] Further controversy arose in early 2018 when New York City Parks Department (NYC Parks)announced plans to cut down some of its trees,[13] and a group of residents successfully sued NYC Parks to force the release of an internal report about the trees,[14] a decision upheld upon appeal.[15] As of August 2018 the renovation was in the procurement process.[16]

2018 might as well been a different lifetime. Not sure if it is still moving forward.

Thanks for sharing. I was not aware. I actually like the original NYC Parks plan. I’ve always thought that corner was awkward and under-used, and that would have made it so much better. People will defend the weirdest shit when it comes to preserving the status quo.
Anyway, back on topic… huzzah NIMBYs didn’t stop the glorious 9 DeKalb!

As of two weeks ago, the sidewalks were not all that bad, actually. But. you can judge for yourselves.
EDIT: But definitely a bad patch here.
