The top doesn’t cut it from a distance.

It might look a lot better when the construction elevator is gone along with the platforms on the parapet

That drive up Flatbush is now iconic.

It’s like Brooklyn’s Eiffel Tower.

Interestingly it is around the same height.

What do they mean by that!? Lighting?

The image is the slightest old compared to Skyalign’s recent update, but they were probably talking about seeing the crown without all the temporary facade maintenance scaffolding, which (as seen in Skyaligns photos) has already been partially removed compared to that image.

I think yes, lighting.

The instagram video is just talking about the physical crown elements, they are shown installing panels on the video. They are just refering to showing the finished crown.

The crown isn’t the only thing that is supposed to light up on this tower, so it wouldn’t make sense for them to have been referring to lighting.

Imagine if they light up 111 West 57th and Brooklyn Tower at the same time

is it too much to hope for a Chrysler building reveal here? Seriously I’m convinced there are more physical crown elements yet to come.

Alas, what a nice thing that would be! But yes, I’d say it’s beyond too much to hope for that lol.

What we got in the end exactly matches the latest renders except for the ones that are missing that had to be skipped for the temporary maintenance lifts. But there aren’t that many that need to be installed still that it would really make any difference. And even so, the larger corner ones are taller than depicted in the renders by several feet (some 7-8 ft) so there’s that :man_shrugging:.

The renders are just somewhat misleading because the 2 upper bands of cladding are depicted as very translucent/transparent, effectively making the finials much taller/longer when in reality the cladding on the top is fairly opaque but for some angles and lighting.

Here is a clearer screenshot from the IG post

The whole structure of the tower was changed before construction, it looked slightly thinner in older renderings. But if you look at the renderings from Brooklyn Tower’s Instagram, that is the current structure we see today. Adjustments to the cladding was madd as well

Which crown?
