That is a dull, uninspiring, cold, generic blue glass residential condo tower: and I think all is fine and well. This is a ‘building standard’ approach to property development; a no frills design that ‘does no harm’. It only disappoints this architectural aficionado.

I would like to see the the equivalent of RAM’s 220 Central Park South in its place; why the developers chose this rather ‘artless’ design is in my opinion a lost opportunity.

On the bright side, this building will serve as the perfect foil as the dull background to some beautiful tower that goes up beside this tower some day in the near future.

Something like this would be nice to see.

It is :joy: it used to be called skyscrapergramer but changed it to skyalign. Is there a way to change my username here?

And thanks again dude!

Just changed it for you.

Do you want upper case “S” or lower case?

I still like the Citibank tower the best.

LIC has a very nice increasingly bulky skyline.

It’s interesting to watch new “downtowns” pop up all around Manhattan–Jersey City, Brooklyn (though hardly new just growing like topsy now), LIC, Hudson Yards, Newark, and others. The skyline around here is getting very complex and more interesting.

Lived in Newark for a bit. Wish it nothing but success and hope it will continue to grow. Don’t hear much about it on here.

I worked there many years ago at its nadir. I’m delighted to see it perk up a bit.

I wonder if development in Newark will get to JC levels anytime soon

I suspect so. Amtrak, NJT, and PATH converge there. There also is an old streetcar line that runs from Penn Station and snakes through the downtown area. Highways also converge there. It’s the largest city in NJ and has quite a bit of cheap land right now. The potential is large.

What kind of zoom is that in the second to last photo?

No prob. If you click through to the Flickr albums, there is zoom info for each picture in the EXIF data.

Off topic but a big problem with Newark is you need to transfer at J Sq for PATH to get to midtown. Eats up time. You can take NJT direct to NY Penn but it’s more $ than PATH.
