The pretty sides are indeed very pretty. The many blank concrete walls are hideous. Overall I wish they could have found a better solution, because the overall contribution to the Downtown Brooklyn skyline is not great.
The shape is pedestrian per se, but the materials are extraordinary.
Now that you mention it I’ve only ever looked at it from the corner of Albee and Willoughby.
You’re absolutely right. And it really is a shame, as the tiles are dazzling in the sunlight. I was struck by how good they looked the last time I was down there.
