The pretty sides are indeed very pretty. The many blank concrete walls are hideous. Overall I wish they could have found a better solution, because the overall contribution to the Downtown Brooklyn skyline is not great.

You’re absolutely right. And it really is a shame, as the tiles are dazzling in the sunlight. I was struck by how good they looked the last time I was down there.
