May 8, 1968: west down Liberty Street looking towards the new 140 Broadway. The buildings on either side of the street have disappeared; Bishop Building in 1991, and the German American Building in 1974 for Louise Nevelson Plaza

Today I learned that they came very close to tearing down 48 Wall Street for the jumbo chode 60 Wall Street, but eventually just tore down 52 Wall Street
1975, scanned from an old book: notice 60 Wall Street with demolition scaffolding
Just found this one from the Singer Building on a Brazilian website. I have never seen it before.
August 1962: The Pearl Street facade of the colonial style Franklin National Bank Building at 100 Water Street; foundation work was underway at the time
Circa 1968, the building is still visible. It would be hidden by the South Street redevelopment and later demolished in 1987.

where did you find the pictures of this building?

I also never realized there was another similar building in midtown that was still standing

Mid Manhattan 1929 and 1990
Anybody know anything about the origin of 219 Church Street? I’ve always been fascinated by this forebidding structure with all those weird exhaust manifolds
Ah, found it. Its called the AT&T Long Lines Building. I guess 219 church is also known as 33 Thomas Street. Really interesting article here:
