(Edited) Appleton House at 200 William Street: originally I expected this to be a later photo but the date of 1895 seems to be correct: it was torn down by 1897 and left as an empty lot until it’s purchase in 1904, where the Black Building was then erected

October 1958, after reopening of the bridge. Ramps stream through the sites of the World Building and 22 North William Street: North William was eliminated and Park Row was rerouted parallel to William Street

Tallest building in NYS outside of Manhattan and on Long Island for 29 years. It must have been crazy watching this go up back then.

A bus on Park Row circa 1963. Note the Tribune Building, and the Rhinelander Building in the far back - its blank wall is exposed due to the neighboring Metropolitan Building having been demolished weeks earlier for urban renewal
