Amazon is in talks to sublease offices in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards neighborhood from JPMorgan Chase, according to people familiar with the matter.
Amazon is looking to sublease space at 5 Manhattan West for the next five years, the people said, asking not to be named because the matter is private.

I would not be surprised if Amazon anchors a huge new tower in NY., and the five year timeline suggests that’s likely.

I just don’t understand why these big companies keep expanding their presence, especially in NYC, by extremely large intervals of footage, while at the same time relentlessly and happily delaying their actual return to offices for dubious health reasons.
Big tech now raising hell about Delta but with all due respect, the investment banks and some big law are all fully back at work and have had no issues whatsoever. Goldman and MS don’t even wear masks. Plus colleges are all fully back now. So the Delta is just a cover, probably for them feeling uncertain that their employees wouldn’t revolt if they mandated them come back now.
If the employees aren’t coming back now, I have serious doubts that they will ever fill these spaces in Manhattan, as much as I would like to see that. Facebook has literally millions of footage in HY and Farley and no clear timeline to actually have anyone, much less a full complement of staff, ever use those spaces. Same goes for Google with its massive campuses at Houston St. and the City Winery pier. Plus some insane new buildings in CA and TX for them. It defies logic but I guess these companies are so absurdly rich that these expenditures are a drop in the bucket for them

Does anyone have an idea to when Phase Two of Hudson Yards will be completed? Phase 2 is located on the West Yard directly in front of the first phase. This phase is said to have a school, smaller-sized residential buildings (some affordable), look below
