From YouTube
I think my favorite part of the HY project is we are losing nothing.
With all other project for something new to come up something else must go, like in the case JP Morgan world HQ, we are giving up a nice 700+ foot, but get a new 1400 footer, it is definitely a great trade. In some cases only blight is razed to make more space, but even the ugly buildings have connection to people who used to work/live there.
HY is all free chicken. Unless you really are going to miss seeing an uncovered rail yard on the riverfront…
Yup my thoughts exactly. It’s 100% net gain, no old beautiful buildings were lost in the process

I spy 7 BMU’s at Hudson Yards. I hope they can be hidden

probably at 55 hudson yards. I don’t think the setback roof is open as of yet.
I was reading this LA Times article about Frank Gehry and it mentioned that he is designing “towers” (plural) for Hudson Yards.
I think that he’s one of the designers for Phase II. I think that they’re “twin” towers on a shared podium like TWC.
Anyone else notice that architects seem to be very long lived?
