NEW YORK | 80-100 Flatbush Avenue (Alloy Block) | 482 FT + 725 FT | 40 + 63 FLOORS

I just noticed the larger one in this development will only be 7 feet shorter than One Manhattan Square. (And also 4 feet shorter than the tallest in my state).

Not really anything meant by that, just interesting facts I found

Very nice!

What’s this building behind?

That is a portion of the school that’s part of the development site.

I find it odd that they’re only currently building the front half of the school since the school in general is a part of Phase 1.

I find it odd that the same development site builds a ‘structural steel’ building, and a ‘reinforce concrete’ formwork building. That may be a too technical question; and I am sure there is a practical reason - but just seems odd.

I am also a fan of ‘new technologies’ in construction - so this question is of particular interest.

Nice update, the cladding on the tower is going up very quickly, I still didn’t think the school would be built in different phases, we can see where the other half will abut the tower.

Wow this is rising quick

Already at the halfway mark.

It is honestly possible for them to top out by the end of the year or early next year. Can’t wait to see the start on 80 Flatbush.

Yes I hope it retains its shape. Brooklyn has quite some interesting buildings going up. I wish LIC would compete.

Yeah the design is pretty awesome for 80 Flat, Number 1 (The Brooklyn Tower) and 2 compliment each other well I think.

And if Queens can ever get that huge rail yard covered I’d love to see some huge residential towers go up there.

Yes, while we may never get supertalls because of LGA, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t get some midrise to skyscraper designs with more finesse.

Nice detail here, the next notch will align with the first setback.

Also, they are starting with the second phase of the school

Hopefully the 2nd phase will rise just as quick. The speed of this has been incredible.

I’d imagine since it has a smaller footprint that it will rise quicker! But I think the form (if it is built with concrete) will complicate things because it’s not a perfectly vertical/nor flat surface. So I’ll hold my tongue lol.
