FB is leasing 57K sf here - probably 2 entire floors.
Boy this one has not turned out well. The balcony inserts look awful, especially with the white columns. The treatment of the utility penthouse “facade” is totally out of sync with the rest of the building. If this is the final appearance it is just a kludge.
The big white toothy gaps give me Spongebob vibes and the glass cladding looks like something out of the game Roblox, so I am morally confused. I’ll just call it garbage.
The white columns you refer to actually appears to look like very reflective metal cladding
Maybe so. Doesn’t alter my conclusion about their not fitting with the basic design. They are just plain weird.
The utility floor cladding looks even worse in person. If only they had used glass, the appearance would have improved significantly. I suppose I should be grateful that the mechanicals and BMU are hidden (unlike so many other buildings), but this is a case where the solution is almost as bad as the problem.
That said, I do like the base of the building. The texture and depth of the window cutouts is visually interesting–at street level especially–and adds a touch of visual variety to the area. A bit of “curb appeal” as our friend @infoshare might say!
HerrDavid: Agree totally.
