Lot’s more terracotta up too, from just now.

Anybody want to hazard a guess as to what floor this is?
Such a relief to see that not every single last window installed in NY lately is the the same push out design.
This is tricky because the commercial windows on this building are also operable which would’ve been a partial give away to what floor it is. But looking at the height relative to 511 5th Ave and the width to height ratio of the floors on the east facing side of the building, this appears to be a commercial floor somewhere in the high 20s/low 30s before the residential transition.
@5Bfilms Do you mean because they aren’t just small rectangles of glass in the overall window that push out?
@TKDV Yes, exactly.
Appears that they’ve finished capping off the last volume of concrete that was just rebar sticking out when the formwork was coming down (which is why it’s now structurally topped-out).
Looks like there may be some formwork/cocoon remnants on the north facing side. This should top out at around the height of the cab.
Yep, we went all the way to the very top (1 floor below the bulkhead since its the “last” real floor) and stopped at several other floors. I will say it’s not normal that general members of the public be admitted onto construction sites but for things like events where press is invited. It’s different when you work for a firm because you’re visting the site as part of the construction administration process and not necessarily because you just wanted to swing by. The contractor still has to be notified of this in addition to visiting frequency needing to be in the contract.
Yep
Some serious galvanized steel. The steel that will be attached on top of the splices will most likely top the tower out.
New clips starting to be put up for the terracotta on the corner of the podium now.
Great pics! @TKDV - how did you create the tile photo gallery?
Thanks! When I uploaded the images they were automatically set up like that (that’s the first time I’d seen it do that).
But all you have to do is put the photo links inside [grid][/grid]. I actually like this since it minimizes the amount of scrolling you have to do for people that upload a lot of photos at one time like I do.
Yes this will alleviate the guilt when I photobomb a thread.
West facing apartments will feature a stunning view of the Marriott Marquis!
