I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a look at the new 2 WTC since in all likelyhood Silverstein will probably release a new rendering of the full campus to put this building in its context.

Those slight curves really sets it apart from a lot of the architecture of the WTC campus. Can’t wait to see more!

I guess it’s not bad but I still think it looks like it belongs in Downtown Brooklyn, LIC, or Hudson Yards as opposed to the WTC. WTC has always signified stately, dignified modernism and this tower, with its mismatched base and flashy facade, is not stately or dignified.

I love it. We’ve seen the north and south facades. I’d like to see the west facade.

I was just thinking about the same thing, I’m not surprised if they start building 2 wtc around 2023 or 2024. I also think the reason why 5 wtc glass is like that is maybe it could look like it’s not part of the complex but I’m not truly sure. I think it looks nice.

Thank you for the renders, @rgarri4. But could you please show 2 WTC with the Norman Foster design? By all accounts it seems that the stepped-tower design will be canceled. Silverstein said they are reimagining the Foster design for 2 WTC.

Eh, the original Foster design is even more out of date than the BIG one so I’ve yet to even model it. Foster is once again the architect but from what I’ve heard they’re starting from scratch. I’ll wait till renderings surface. Hopefully they don’t wait as long as the renderings for his 270 park Ave. tower.

Does the “wing” on the west side of the facade fold inward or am I imagining that?

This building is ok. It’s not great, but it’s not bad either.

I’m not mad at it. If a 920ft building like this were going up here in Denver I would lose my mind.

It’s way better than the original design but still perhaps could of done more. I think the thing is we’ve always expected another office building to rise and instead they surprise us with a mostly residential building.

Agreed, if it was built here it would become the city’s new tallest building by about 200ft

Denver has a gaping hole in the skyline that is screaming for a building that rises above the plataeu! Look what a skyscraper like that has done for Edmonton.
