I think this is a really beautiful tower—very simple, elegant, and interesting division of spaces that gets your attention.

Three Sutton Place: the tallest residential building on the east river waterfront New York City.

The views from this building offer a good vantage point of both the Manhattan cityscape, and the distant horizon over the borough of Queens.

Thinking of the Vitruvian Triad of Beauty, Usefulness, and Solidity. This aspect of ‘great views’ would be part of the all important Vitruvian Triad regarding ‘usefulness’. This project has been a big success on al aspects of Architectural excellence.

It has been a long and winding road to completion for this building: due to various zoning, financing and community (NIMBY) opposition. It was good reviewing some of the history on this project as I read this thread today once again.

This video is a great treat for spotting many of the towering Architectural icons in the vicinity of Sutton Place and beyond.
