its kinda surprising 250 has held on as long as it has. It would be cool if they could add a Savoy Plaza esque addition to it (but taller haha)

Foster designed this tower in Mexico. I expect 270 Park to be very similar in appearance based upon what we’ve discovered so far.

But the NY version would have those setbacks so it wouldn’t be as rectangular. But interesting…

That would be even worse than I’m expecting.

As ugly as this building might be, at least we know it will have a nice facade

hahaa! that building in Mexico is heinous as an anus!

I’m so indifferent to 50 HY. I hope that 270 Park is not as soporific.

Interesting how the bracing fans out, creating a sort of “pleated” effect. Reminds me of the IDS Building. Based on what we know so far I’m picturing 270 Park as a 1350 foot version of the IDS Building but with setbacks, bronze cross bracing, and a cantilevered base.

The guy with inside knowledge had posted here a few months ago that a rendering would be released in the summer. Hopefully, we’ll have one soon. I have some hope that Norm will surprise us with something nice, though I expect crap.

I’m excited and scared all at the same time because Foster has the capability to totally knock it out of the park.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed

Agreed! the gherkin is a masterwork in architecture!

I agree. Foster produces innovative works of art, like the Gherkin, and lame, pathetic designs like 50 HY or that PoS in Mexico City.

425 Park is neither. Its his rare middle ground. Hopefully, we’ll get something decent (not great) like that instead of a 1,350’ version of the aforementioned garbage. So far, his track record in NY is terrible, but for Hearst, which is pretty good and 425 Park which is a mediocre design but with very nice flourishes.
