I was standing in the street actually. I know my rights.
Bye Felicia!!! This makes me so happy!
Awesome, did you say anything to them? I’ve worked security, so I can relate to having to follow orders I don’t agree with. But there’s no excuse for ignorance or overreach like that.
I’ve gotten that crap before. Once a Goldman guy told me I was “insulting the firm” and demanded I delete my shot which only semi-featured 200 West

No structural demo yet, could start a bit after that crane is up
I hope you told him to kick rocks. When security at 277 Park Avenue told me I couldn’t take pics, I went home, started up a thread on skyscraperpage, and dumped just about every good pic I’d taken of that building onto it. Don’t piss us artists or writers off! I’d be like “Insulting the firm? WTF, use the Brooklyn Bridge to get over yourself!”
As for 277, it’s a good thing I like that building so much, otherwise I’d use my talent for drawing personified skyscrapers to do something REALLY embarrassing.
I assume that we’ll see a rendering soon. I really hope that this isn’t a colossal disappointment, though I have very low expectations. Foster routinely shafts NY.
Posted on SSP by Amanita, "Found this on Twitter yesterday, I just cut and pasted it. It’s a possible explanation for why we haven’t seen renders:

A reliable source tells me Foster’s office is not releasing a rendering of 270 Park’s replacement until they’re certain that “every last scrap” of Natalie de Blois’ 1961 façade “is in the dumpster.”
I find that implausible. Once the DOB approves the NB application, we’ll see the diagrams that were filed, and we’ll have a reasonably good idea of what it looks like.
Hopefully, Norm won’t royally screw us again.
He had better not! If we’re losing one of the better International style towers, we had better be getting something great!
280 Park is horrible. Good thing it’s likely coming down in the next cycle.
I hope that 350 Park truly comes down too.
Lots of junk on Park needs to go: 280, 350, 405, 410. I hope 250 stays though. Unfortunately it looks like it might be replaced with a glassy tower, I saw this on KPF architect Trent Tesch’s instagram:
I think that 250 is very handsome. Demolishing 270 bugged me at first but if the tower’s good I don’t mind: 280, 345, and 350 are hideous atrocities that should go, but I’d especially like to see a mass wipe-out of setback Emery Roth Buildings for bigger and better towers.
