Very nice photo, JC!
the building is gonna be so tall that it is taller than the Chrysler building.
Uhh yeah. Indeed it will be.
It will be taller than the Astrodome too.
Bear Stearns building looks on in distain -
New steel has been added now that the cranes have jumped, the last vertical construction we will see from this vantage point. The midpoint of these columns is where the diamond inverts back the other direction, so the midpoint of this tier has now been reached, the building is now around ~635β (+/- 5β) tall.
Concrete works are a floor below the first setback, and fireproofing 2 levels below that. As far as vertical construction for the rest of the year goes, after these 2 floors, there is a taller transition floor and then the next lesser mechanical floor of this tier, things will slow down again once this is reached. Overall, the New Year should start with the building being nearly half itβs completed height if the mechanical floor columns are erected before then/after.
When do you think it will top out?
Later next year
Yes, I can definitely see it topping out later next year, earliest in Q3. I believe once this tier is done, 2 of the cranes will be dismantled. So that will inevitably slow things down, but the speed should be the same as once that point is reached, the floor area will already be half of the lower tier, so the work βpaceβ is still technically the same.
Thanks
