NEW YORK | 262 Fifth Ave | 860 FT | 60 FLOORS

I see some have taken my comment more literally than I intended to be taken: what I was getting at is this tower is now “famous” given the extensive media coverage, the tall slender aspect ratio, and the sight line issues.

This is a good thing: there is a glut of luxury condos on the market - any public commentary, any news coverage, any controversy (even negative) will have a net positive effect on sales.

Here is the AI take on the point I was trying to make - but failed.
AI Overview
262 Fifth Avenue is now famous because it is an exceptionally slender luxury residential tower that has generated significant controversy for blocking iconic views of the Empire State Building and for its design, which many critics call an example of “pencil tower” architecture. The building’s ultra-exclusive nature, with only 26 ultra-luxury apartments, has also sparked debate about its purpose and impact on housing inequality in New York City.

I too look forward to the completion of this tower. I remain a fan of this project, and still a bit puzzled by the massive criticism 262 Fifth Avenue is now getting. I watched this B1M video recently and better understand the objections.

Here is the link for those who have not seen the video posted previously on this thread -

I tend to view this building in complete isolation from social, economic, and aesthetic considerations: to me it is simply a really cool project, - interesting in size, construction, materials, etc.

I do now better understand why the attitude of most on this thread do not share my enthusiasm; but I continue to give this project a thumbs up.
