The windows above the residential entrance really look splendid with their finely wrought screening. Looks much better in person than in my hastily snapped photo; and will look even more striking at night–as the rendering below indicates.

Projects like this are the primary reason why I’m pro-development. This area went from trashy to classy thanks to this tower. What a wonderful example of the good things development can do. I just wish we had more developments like this and less Sam Chang/Gene Kaufman monstrosities that actively make neighborhoods worse.

I think the Chinese are banking on all these hotel areas eventually being zoned residential, then they can condo these buildings.
