Work progressing on the Highline extension between the legs of 10 HY

The possibility of somehow linking this extension of the High Line to the elevated plaza at Manhattan West (either by extending it up 10th Ave to connect to the southwest corner of 5 MW, or above 30th/Dyer to connect to the plaza between 5 MW and the Eugene) is so so tantalizing. Doing so would really create some synergy between the two mega-projects.

Does anyone here think that’s a possibility or just a pipe dream?

I know an engineer friend who mentioned working on something very much like that, so I know it’s been considered, at least.

SHoP even proposed linking the HL all the way to a new Penn Station. The opportunities are endless if the city is smart and wills it.

The success of the HL should embolden the city to take action in making use of underutilized land.
