Trump is actively soliciting donations to fund the tower. In addition, he is considering a hotel or office component. He’s essentially been gifted prime real estate and plans to make it a commercial property that his family will profit off of while soliciting donations to pay for it.
This is potentially a violation of the Emoluments Clause as well, (if its built during his presidency) which explicitly prohibits presidents from profiting while in office, something Trump has violated many times.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many replies for a forum just started YESTERDAY. But that’s because of a political puppet/politician…overall expected and I don’t care. I wish I could say I like the final design, but with the AI chopping up the crown in many shots I don’t know what to think. Architectural firms, please do not over use AI. Sure it might enhance the rendering for a more realistic effect…but I very much prefer a finalized CGI rendering. Like a still frame from a modern movie using CGI, it’s hard work greatly appreciated

A hotel/commercial part explains this 50 storey monstrosity, the city better grow a spine and get an extra tax out of this, but its really a win-win situation for all parties involved despite the dirty trick.
My primary concern is the bad design, a better tower should be designed there. The spire has no relation to that roof, the entire thing belongs in the 80’s.
If every update in this thread will devolve into plethoras of political posts it’s best to close this thread down.
