Demolition of the Mahi Shrine Auditorium, the former home of the fez-wearing Shriners along the Miami River, looks like it’s almost complete, according to photos taken by exMiami. The big boxy warehouse-looking building will be replaced by a WAY bigger and boxier looking megaproject called River Landing, complete with 444 residential units and 1.6 million square feet of retail. We’re talking big box scale retail. BJ’s and LA Fitness have already signed up. Last we heard, designer/TV stud David Bromstad was going to add his design touch to the place, so that should help.
