Glad this passed. Not allowing density near high-frequency transit just sets the transit system up to fail. Obviously this will have more impacts in some places than others. I’m not as familiar with LA, but I lived in the bay area for a while so I’ll use that as an example: a lot of SF proper is within affected zones, but as you go down the peninsula it basically only affects Caltrain and BART stops for now (which should still be hugely useful). Hopefully this is the first domino – as the Caltrain and BART stops densify there will be a better case for more cross-connection, like the plan for passenger service across a new Dumbarton rail bridge that has been kicked around for decades.

LA is considering congestion pricing. This is probably one of the best places to implemenent it aside from NYC.
