Why by far?
Lafayette has no supermarket within walking distance, no 24 hr rapid transit, not enough other shops (yet). It is a beautiful neighborhood, just not enough population to support enough retail within walking distance to be convenient. Much easier to get around on foot around Central Ave, Journal SQ, or downtown. It’s ok if you can bike to run errands though.
