Here’s the latest high-rise proposal for Construction Central in Seattle

Wilshire Capital Partners is seeking the city of Seattle’s OK to develop a 26-story residential tower across the street from a new Amazon.com office building.

Wilshire’s proposed tower would stand next to a planned mid-rise residential project; UW Medicine’s expanding campus in South Lake Union; more new Amazon office buildings; some mid-rise office buildings that Vulcan Real Estate is planning; a mid-rise office tower proposed by Alexandria Real Estate Equities. Oh, and a proposed 240-foot-tall residential tower.
Welcome to Seattle’s Construction Central.

In the heart of this area at 427 Ninth Ave. N., is where Wilshire Capital, a private real estate company based in Beverly Hills, California, is proposing a 244-unit residential project. The city’s Thursday land-use bulletin lists the company’s master-use application for the project.

According to other documents filed with the city, this is one of two projects that Wilshire is pursuing in the South Lake Union area. Wilshire’s Scott Sorensen was not immediately available to comment.

The company’s project at 427 Ninth will sit atop a four-story podium that could cover three-quarters of the 14,400-square-foot development site. A more slender tower with floor plates measuring 7,200 square feet would rise above the podium. The plans call for 3,400 square feet of retail and just 69 stalls of parking at or below grade, according to documents filed with the city.
