Another Massive Residential Tower Coming To South Lake Union

A San Francisco company has applied for a master-use permit to build a 25-story residential tower by Amazon.com’s headquarters in the South Lake Union neighborhood.
The application, which was listed in Monday’s city land-use bulletin, states that MacFarlane Partners is planning the tower at 901 Harrison St., where a hardware store and one other small business operate. That’s two blocks west of Amazon’s headquarters and just west and south of two future Amazon office buildings.
MacFarlane’s project will have 328 residential units, including five live/work lofts at the base of the building; 4,700 square feet of residential space; and 170 underground parking stalls.
Officials of MacFarlane, which provides real estate investment management services to institutional investors, were not immediately available. But the company’s website states that MacFarlane will serve as the developer of the apartment project.
Currently on the half-acre site is a two-story retail building that is home to City Hardware and Kaufer’s Religious Supplies.
