Franklin Square PATCO station construction
It was always fun to take PATCO and look at the ghost station speeding by.
Just pray they don’t buy from CRRC given their track record of making crap but given SEPTA already has used them for the regional railroad cars it’s not out of the realm of possibility they will use them to procure equipment for this.
They’ve been out of service for four years now. I wonder if anyone will get fired for this. It took less time to win WW2 than restore a tram.

SEPTA will retain its trolleybus lines. This is the last trolleybus system on the East Coast, since the MBTA in Boston/Cambridge got rid of theirs last year.
What a mess!
$2.00 with two free transfers. That’s a good deal.
SEPTA just axed the contract for CRRC-made bilevels given they’ve failed to produce much in the past 4 years, with thr order behind schedule and quality control issues.
I would like to think this would spell the end of CRRC’s unsuccessful efforts to build passenger rail cars in the US, but I have a feeling they will continue to win contracts through their successful policy of underbidding other manufacturers.
That is exactly what happened with SEPTA where they underbid but it seems SEPTA had enough of CRRC’s poor performance in devlivering their ordered railcars and axed the order. Hopefully this sets an example for other railroads to stand up to CRRC and not go through with contracts that result in low qualitu or extremely late deliveries of railcars.
