Main Tower bevor the topping out (Frankfurt am Main)

The Main Tower is a low-energy high-rise, as there is a water reservoir in the concrete tubes (Foundation). This water is used to heat the building in winter and for air conditioning in summer.

The Main Tower was completed in 1999, and the photo was taken in mid-March 1999.

There is also a very interesting book about the construction of the Messeturm.

I hope they made a film or book like that about Liberty Place. We know all of the firms document and capture their construction. So many of those shots deserve to be here

(From a modern postcard)

Were columns and beams riveted together still used in the construction of 655 Madison Avenue? As the building is demolished, the old (1950) steel structure is visible.

They did that because the marble panels had started falling off.
