Ten cents the sky is falling!
The Orange Tyrant has to pay the MTA $34 million for public safety purposes per a judge’s order after he tried snatching it for clearly partisan reasons.
Sadly this order is unenforceable!
That type of setup was first spotted being experimented with back in April. My previous comments in regards to it still apply.
On an NYC transit Reddit page, a picture surfaced showing that new faregates are being installed at the Port Authority (A,C,E) station.
Just a random thought: does anyone know what happened to the renovation of Chambers Street station?
It was put on hold when Congestion Pricing was delayed. Congestion pricing has been in effect for almost a year now and nothing has been announced regarding the Chambers Street renovation. They did give it some attention during the ADA upgrades but it since has reverted to its prior state.
Yup. What a shame.
That’s going to be expensive.
At New Haven Union Station, an interior mock-up of the new CTRail cars was unveiled. The inclusion of bike storage, large, spacious restrooms, wheelchair space and ample luggage room are welcome, plus those are some of the biggest windows I’ve seen on a regular commuter train.
I also notice overhead displays throughout the coach which is a nice touch for those seated towards the middle as they can see upcoming stops easier.
After decades of living in the area (NYC), I honestly had no idea Connecticut had its own rail system lol ![]()
Most people in Connecticut have never heard of it.
A very welcome upgrade. Looks like these coaches will also be in use on the MTA/CTrail’s Danbury and Waterbury lines.
That’s the intention: to run on CTRail’s diesel powered routes to replace older rolling stock such as the Mafersa and Comet cars. They’re also expected to arrive starting next year.
